My preparation for Exams😈.

As usual, I was striving hard to focus on my textbooks and was trying even harder to stop my boat of imagination from sailing through the deep oceans of dreams. Okay! Now, I’ve decided to finally and fully focus on my subject. So, now no more daydreaming and No More DISTRACTIONS😈.

It’s 8 am, so I’ll give 1 hr to each chapter and will use the remaining time for revision. And then, I’ll surely be able to achieve 90+ marks😎.. Maybe, I’ll turn into the class topper, or maybe school topper😋. Wow. That’ll be AMAZING. Thinking ’bout Mrs.Sharma’s expressions, when she’ll hear this great news, makes me laugh😆. Just think ’bout that ‘egoistic’ topper Kritika. It’ll be so fun to see her attitude along with ego cracking down and flowing along the sewage. That’ll be too good for her😅! But, if I were to be the topper, I’ll make sure that I treat all the students with equal respect, no matter how weak or intelligent they are… I wonder how happy mum would be…

.. I was thinking ’bout all this and suddenly the door opening slowly. My father squeezed and then popped his head through the narrow crevice and said, “Oh, are you studying, beta?” And, as I heard this question, I felt like saying, “No Papa, Aren’t you seeing this book and pen in my hand, which I’ve brought to play dandiya💃!? Come, join me😏.” But, being a sanskari Indian girl (who cannot give answers back), I couldn’t reply as I feel like and had to say a “yes” with a sweet-but-fake smile 😅😬. As he left after being satisfied by my ‘yes’, I looked up at the clock and it was already 9.30 am.😨 I’ll never be able to understand why times passes so quickly when I have a lot of work to be done!!

Okay. Now finally I’ll put all my focus on my book. This is a final decision! Hmm.. Let’s begin😠

Okay, I’ll study Biology… It was about 10.15 am and a beep sound of my mobile attracted me. But no, I’m not gonna touch it. Not at all😠. Wait.. what if its something urgent😦? Okay, lemme check it. I’ll just see the notification and then return to my studies.

I unlocked my phone and saw a bunch of notifications hanging. Umm, let’s see if anything’s important.

.. Hey, someone has sent me a friend request on FB. Who’s it!? Oh, it’s someone, Jackie Singh. But I don’t know any Jackie. What if, it’s any Jessica or Jacqueline? But, wait, I also don’t know any of them. Then who’s this😕!? Lemme look her pics. Oh, There’re no pics but just some quotes😯!! Then who’s this person? There’re no mutual friends. Wait, what if it’s some terrorist who’s trying to trace me or sneak my personal information😵! Oh, God😱… But what if he’s not? Okay, the best option is to leave it pending😶.

After spending about 1 hr in stalking others and scrolling feeds. I finally decided to keep FB aside. After all, it’s my exam tomorrow! But then a magical moment happened😳. An eye contact, between me and my.. Instagram app. Trust me, its no less than a fairytale, when you see a notification sign on Instagram. It seems like, your crush aiming his heart on you😘! Within a fraction of a second, I found myself in the world of hashtags, the empire of ootd, the castle of stories, the galaxy of ridiculous memes & trolls, the home of more than a million post.. #Instagram👑. And then I was soo engrossed in it, that I didn’t realise it was already 12 pm unless my mother sent me for bathing😌 ( I was working so silently, that everyone thought that I’m already in the bathroom😅).

… There’s something very special about my bathroom. The opening for exhaust fan is parallel to the sun during winter noon✨. This makes a ray of sunlight fall exactly on my face, which indeed makes me look prettier and my face seems more photogenic in the mirror👰. So, my bathroom turns into a shooting location, and the mirror becomes a camera and I’m, of course, the model👸! And after posing like a supermodel to miss universe and so much more, I realise my true purpose of going there. And then after next 10-15 minutes, I’m out. Fresh and Energetic😀. But the time is Fast and Furious 😈! It’s already about 1 pm! Whyyyyyyy?? 😵😱😶

I’m now trying to be an optimist. Oh yes. I can do it. After all, I’m Avni and me… Umm, I what? What have I done? Nothing. Maybe I’ll never be able to do anything..(blah blah blah..). And then I slipped into the deep cliff of sorrows, disappointments &. DEPRESSION😵. But the time is being happy and has already jumped to around 2 pm. And my mother is yelling my name from the kitchen to have lunch.😶

Indian lunch is not just ’bout food. It’s something like a… Umm (I don’t even have words to describe it!) We talk about food, then weather, then politics and then the politics of other nations, then political scenario within the family (big Indian joint family 👪👬👭👫👪👬👯👭) and even about political structure inside the neighbourhood. We are really very much interested in politics. Sometimes, I feel like if these people were given a chance to be political leaders, I don’t know whether the country would progress or regress😕, but I’m sure that there would be peace within families and no more fights nor misunderstanding😬! These lunches surely consume time but no one can avoid them. So, time’s 3 pm.

Now I’m in my room thinking ’bout how I wasted my precious time😔. And how I’ve been wasting all these semesters and years. Oh Gosh… Meanwhile, my mom entered my room and laid down beside me, narrating how hard her day was. (I’m my mom’s closest buddy☺). And her voice faded and faded and eventually stopped. I turned around and saw that she has slept. Okay, so now as there is complete silence, I’ll study hard. Yay Avni. You can do it😀.

.. But it wasn’t as easy as I expected. My tiered mum began snoring. Her rhythmic snoring echoed the room and danced through my eyelids making them heavier and nearly impossible to open😟. Poor me. I fought with those SNORy beasts all alone🙍. But unfortunately, I was defeated. And all I could do was to set an alarm for 1 hr i.e 4.30pm

As usual, a mere alarm couldn’t wake me up, hence I woke up at 5.30 pm. I texted my friend ‘Are you prepared for tomorrow? I’ve not even started!’ And all that she replied was ‘Good Joke’. Oh, Goddd 😢. My friends study harder than me, but all I do is ‘smart work’😶. But there’s no one who believes it. Everyone in my school thinks that I study hard 😔(which is not true)!

And now everyone is getting ready to go to a mala (carnival). But I’ll study after they leave because they all are yelling on top of their voice 🔊”Have you seen my sneakers?” “Where is my mobile phone?”….

Finally, they’ve left. There’s complete silence.

But now, I’ve kept my books aside and blogging as if I’m completely fearless for tomorrow’s exam (but it’s not so).😂

My family is back to home now. BUT NOW, IM GONNA STUDY HARD. NOW, THERE’LL BE NO MORE DISTRACTIONS. Maybe.
