Today I’m here to introduce someone, whom we all NEED to know.😊
We’ve never met or saw each other.. She was completely unknown to me untill TODAY, and now she’s one of my inspirations, She’s grandma Angie from Kentucky.
Grandma Angie ( Kentucky24 ), is like any other blogger, but what makes her different is her story. 😊… She’s a constant learner and an avid blogger. And today I’m here with somethings that you should know about her..😀
Angie had a fun filled childhood with her two sisters and four brothers.. But her childhood was deeply affected by a very horrifying accident, when one of her cousins Judy, who was then just 5 years old, was hit by a coal truck after getting off their school bus and crossing the road to her home. She saw it happening, right in front of her eyes, from her seat by the window. 😕
Talking about the accident she says, ” The truck driver not only didn’t stop for the bus, he hit Judy after she was several feet into their driveway, still holding her older sister’s hand. I’m so glad I didn’t realized the entire situation back then, because it gives me chills now, all these years later.”
Unfortunately, Judy didn’t survived. She was instantly killed when the truck picked her up and tossed in the air across a ditch and fence and into the field next to her home. This incident deeply saddened her and she often sees it in her nightmares.😢
She wanted a bigger family and more children. But unfortunately only her 3 of 5 children lived😦, so it was time to forget about more and do as much as she could for the 3 survivors.
But out of all this, her most difficult problem is that she has advanced MS. [Multiple sclerosis, commonly referred to as MS, is a disease that affects the central nervous system (brain and spinal cord). MS can cause nerve damage that results in disability.]
She says, “My most difficult problem now is that I have advanced MS and it’s affecting my memory. I have almost one brain cell left in my head so that makes it difficult to come up with words at times…”
But, now you must be thinking why am I calling her an inspiration?
It’s because of inspite of all these painful experiences, she tries her best to find positivity in every thing..😄🙋👍
Talking about her advanced MS, grandma Angie says,”I’m as old as dirt and have probably lived longer than most people with MS. I’m ready for whatever happens, but not in a hurry to leave this plane just yet. Take care of yourself and enjoy every minute you spend with those troublesome siblings of yours. We all grow old so fast these days, as a conversation with a close friend reminded me a couple of hours ago.”
Isn’t she truely inspirational?👏👏
She says, ” …Don’t be sorry for me. The good things have so far outweighed the bad ones that I just laugh it all off now…. I have overcome all the obstacles that have been tossed in front of me and have learned so much just by doing it that I usually forget the bad stuff. I call the things that happen “train wrecks” and have fun with them. None of this would have happened if everything in life had been smooth and easy. It has been quite a ride and are still miles and miles to go before it’s over.”
